Our company's history goes back to 1951. My grandfather, Kenji Sawada, was a man from Shizuoka Prefecture. He walked all the way from Shizuoka Prefecture to Kagoshima. He was seven years old at the time. He met and married Toki Sawada on Amami Oshima Island. Later, he bought tea in Chiran town and started a business to sell it in Kagoshima city. Then he took in Ryozo Sawada, who became the president of the company and laid the foundation of the present company. My name is Masayoshi Sawada and I am the third generation to take over from him. I took over from him as the third president of S Sawada En, and I decided to join Alibaba because I wanted to share the wonderful Japanese green tea with the rest of the world. Tea grown in Kagoshima Prefecture is shipped to areas all over Japan. Our group is located in Kagoshima. We buy the rough tea and process it into various teas. We produce a variety of teas, including sencha, deep steamed tea, hojicha, genmaicha, matcha, and gyokuro. We are also certified to FSSC 22000 and JAS.
